Santa Barbara Airport (SBA)
We are thankful for our over 20-year partnership with SBA. Selected as their Adopt-a-School Program, SBA has provided annual support in the following ways:
- Sponsoring Friday Folders
- Donating to our Jog-a-Thon
- Providing Teacher/Staff Appreciation gifts
This year SBA is generously sponsoring a merchandise booth at the Goleta Lemon Festival (Sat 9/16-Sun 9/17). We are thankful for their generosity, allowing us the opportunity to raise funds in a different way. Our booth is located next to SBA booth. Please extend a thank you to them - specifically Tim Lawton, Airport Community Education Liaison - for this unique opportunity.
University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB)
UCSB has been a long-time community partner. From providing student volunteers to support our campus during recess and lunch to offering unique programming to experience educational, cultural, and social events, UCSB provides memorable experiences for our school community. Here is a brief list:
Vive El Arte (Arts and Lectures department)
IV School is grateful to have UCSB's Arts & Lectures Department as a generous benefactor and community partner to provide us an exciting cultural program every year. This FREE program allows our children to enjoy an assembly during the day; the whole family can enjoy a performance in the evening. ¡Viva el Arte de Santa Bárbara! is a collaboration between UCSB Arts & Lectures, the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center, Isla Vista School, and The Marjorie Luke Theatre. Check out this year's lineup!
Carnival (Inter-Greek Council)
UCSB's Inter-Greek Council hosts a carnival as part of their Greek philanthropy week. IV School's carnival is unique to our campus; you won't find traditional carnival booths or typical carnival food. Instead, the Greeks offer plenty of fun games and activities for our children to enjoy after school. PTA sells food (pizza and snacks) and beverages. We are fortunate for this partnership as we are their recipient of choice; their week-long fundraising efforts are donated to our school.
GIVE Sale (Student Affairs)
The GIVE Sale is UCSB's annual rummage sale that occurs a week after graduation. Prior to the sale, the GIVE coordinators solicit volunteers from local programs of their choice to prepare for the sale; they also need volunteers the weekend of the sale. Volunteer time translates to monies for individual camp accounts (5th and 6th grade where parents pay half the cost; PTA pays the other half). IV School has been one of their selected programs for over 20 years. This is a great opportunity to earn funds for your child's camp accounts. Learn more about the GIVE Sale.
There are others to name, but this post will be really lengthy! As you enjoy the unique opportunities that arise around campus, please be sure to extend a thank you to the community partners that make this happen for our wonderful school.
